Asian markets trade mixed on Thursday
Key Asian equity markets were trading mixed this morning, led by a similar close on Wall Street in overnight trade. Commodity stocks have extended their previous session’s gains today, tracking higher metal and oil prices. Meanwhile, all the major indices were gyrating in a narrow band at this point of time.
Hang Seng was trading at 20,894.70, up 17.91 points or 0.09%, Jakarta Composite was trading at 2,570.17, up 3.08 points or 0.12%, Seoul Composite was trading at 1,622.71, up 0.27 points or 0.02% and Taiwan Weighted was trading at 7,656.51, up 26.99 points or 0.35%.
On the other hand, Shanghai Composite was trading at 3,090.60, down 6.40 points or 0.21%, KLSE Composite was trading at 1,285.04, down 1.06 points or 0.08%, Nikkei 225 was trading at 10,250.18, down 2.96 points or 0.03% and Straits Times was trading at 2,775.51, down 7.28 points or 0.26%.
